Gyvlon liquid screed is a quality-assured, pump-dispensed, free-flowing anhydrite (calcium sulphate). Its ease of application and thermal advantages with underfloor heating are seeing it become increasingly popular as an alternative to sand & cement and a sound choice ecologically.

Gyvlon screeds achieve higher thermal conductivity by reducing cover of underfloor heating pipes and greatly improving the heat performance and reaction times of the screed. This allows for a more reactive system that requires a smaller amount of energy input compared with sand & cement.

System temperature is easier to regulate due to its responsive nature and allows the building to achieve a constant temperature without the variability and thermal overshoot associated with thicker section sand cements and concretes.

Gyvlon also greatly reduces the amount of manual labour required, allowing up to 1500m2 to be installed in one day. Following installation, Gyvlon cures quickly giving sufficient strength to allow foot traffic after 36-48 hours. The binder is made from 98% recycled content – for every 1000m2 installed 34 tonnes is saved from landfill.

EXCELLENT THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY

Gyvlon is ideally suited to underfloor heating as it achieves full encapsulation of the heating conduit, eliminating entrapped air and honeycombing. This provides a superior heat transfer between pipe and screed. This combined with Gyvlon’s higher thermal conductivity (2.2W/mk) and minimal pipe covering results in a greatly improved reaction time and reduced flow temperatures.

FOOT TRAFFIC IN 24-48 HOURS

Gyvlon cures quickly giving sufficient strength to allow foot traffic after 24-48 hours. This allows other trades back into the building to keep the project progressing.

PROTEIN FREE

Unlike sand & cement screeds Gyvlon is 100% protein free, meaning it cannot harbour bacteria. This makes it ideal for application in medical institutions or other areas where hygiene is of importance.

UP TO 40% SAVINGS IN FUEL

If you’re running underfloor heating off a traditional gas or oil boiler system you could save up to 10% on your annual fuel costs. If you have or are installing a ground or air source heat pump then you could save as much as 30-40% on your yearly running costs.

98% RECYCLED BINDER

Gyvlon binder is made from 98% recycled content. It is mixed with special additives, selected aggregates and clean potable water to produce a pumpable self smoothing, flowing screed. For every 1000m2 installed 34 tonnes is saved from landfill.

LARGE BAY SIZES

Gyvlon allows for bay sizes up to 1000m² (or 300m² with underfloor heating) – much larger than sand & cement screeds (36m²). Having larger bay sizes means we install fewer expansion joints, giving a much smoother finish to your floor.

ACCURATE PLACEMENT & SURFACE FINISH

Gyvlon flowing screed is designed to provide a smooth level surface prior to the application of floor finishes. The screed is pump dispense giving more control over the placement of the screed and no risk of barrow damage to door frames or under floor heating pipes.

SPEED OF APPLICATION

Due to its fluid nature, Gyvlon is up to ten times quicker to install than sand & cement screeds, greatly reducing the amount of manual labour required. Up to 1500m2 can be installed in one day.

EXTREMELY LOW SHRINKAGE

Gyvlon screed has very little shrinkage, meaning it does not crack or curl like sand & cement.
